Four outstanding Ottoson projects advanced to National History Day national competition this year where one achieved first place in the Junior Group Website Category and another, among the top ten finishers in the Junior Group Documentary category, captured a special award.

Ottoson Middle School students heard from speakers, participated in workshops, and listened to a panel of their peers in a day devoted to exploring connection and community.

The all-school Inclusion Workshops held over three days this spring enabled everyone to take a break, reach beyond their comfort zones, share their stories, and think about what it means to be part of an inclusive and supportive community.

With the help of a debate coach, the AHS Speech and Debate Team grew in skill and strength, competed in more tournaments, and developed relationships with younger students and high school clubs across the state.

The Arlington Public Schools had its first experience presenting and enjoying Theatre for Young Audiences with the May musical performance of “Strega Nona”, the story of a “grandma witch” who helps her neighbors with their problems.

VIsits and performances at Dallin, Ottoson, and Arlington HIgh School, staying with host families, and taking-in the local sights helped the visiting Japanese young people build friendships, share their culture, and learn about ours.

The entire 2022-2023 athletic year at Arlington HIgh School is shaping up to be one of exciting play and solid accomplishments, with winter teams and individual athletes earning honors and spring play starting strong.

Sixty-six administrators, teachers, and staff members joined with their colleagues to honor their tenure, the achievement of professional status, and wish them well in their retirement.
