Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Arlington Public Schools was awarded a multi-year Mental Health Awareness Training Grant to support Project Arlington Mental Health Initiative, an exciting project to provide free Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) training to any interested APS staff member, parent/caregiver, and community member throughout Arlington. We'll be offering multiple in person and virtual YMHFA trainings throughout the next couple of years.

Are you a parent, community member, or an organization that works with Arlington youth? Fill out this form to express your interest in attending a Youth Mental Health First Aid training or bringing a training to your organization.

We offer the trainings in three different formats:
  1. Fully in person: 6.5 hours of instructor-led content. This format can be offered in a one full day session (usually an 8-hour day, including breaks), two half days, or four 2-hour days. 
  2. Fully virtual: 2 hour self-paced video required to be completed before the 5-hour virtual synchronous, instructor-led portion. This instructor-led session can be offered over one or two days. 
  3. Virtual & in person: 2 hour self-paced video required to be completed before the 5-hour in person synchronous, instructor-led portion. This instructor-led session can also be offered over one or two days.
